Dr. Ramesh’s expertise is in the preparation and prosecution of US and foreign patent applications in the areas of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, polymers, agrochemicals, animal health, and industrial water treatment. She advises clients on IP and related transactional matters including strategic patent portfolio assessment and due diligence services.

Dr. Ramesh received her JD from the Chicago-Kent College of Law/Illinois Tech where she was a recipient of the esteemed Order of the Coif, a member of Law Review and a Chicago-Kent Legal Scholar. She obtained her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Texas A& M University under the guidance of Nobel Laureate Sir Derek H. R. Barton. Her thesis research focused on free radical reactions of organotellurium compounds.

Prior to joining Weaver Austin Villeneuve & Sampson LLP, Dr. Ramesh was a Partner at Flener IP & Business Law LLC of Chicago, IL. Her other law firm experience includes positions as an Associate at Ladas & Parry LLP and at Rockey, Milnamow & Katz. Dr. Ramesh also served as Corporate IP Counsel at Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc. and Nalco Chemical Company. Before her legal career, she was a Research Analytical Chemist at Nalco Chemical Company.
