Ms. Tsai’s practice focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Her technical expertise includes chemistry and materials, semiconductor technologies, electrochemical engineering, and green energy technologies.

Prior to joining WAVS, Ms. Tsai served as an intern for Judge Mariane Spearman of the King County Superior Court in Seattle, Washington. 

In her prior experience, Ms. Tsai worked as an undergraduate researcher for the Li Research Group of the Department of Chemistry at University of Washington and authored an Honors thesis titled “First-principles Studies of Palladium-Catalyzed Organic Synthesis.” At the University of Washington, Ms. Tsai served as President of the Phi Lambda Upsilon Chemistry Honorary Society. Ms. Tsai received her B.S. in Chemistry and B.A. in Biochemistry from the University of Washington with College Honors. Ms. Tsai received her J.D. from UCLA School of Law with a specialization in Entertainment, Media, and Intellectual Property Law. 

Ms. Tsai is a member of the California State Bar and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  She currently serves as a Director-at-Large of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area where she won the inaugural Board Member of the Year Award in 2021, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Taiwan Culture & Education Foundation.

Ms. Tsai is the Hiring Partner for the chemistry group at WAVS, founded and serves as a Co-Chair of the Diversity Committee, and serves on the Compensation Committee.
