Sammit Nene is a Patent Agent with over a decade of experience specializing in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications across diverse technological landscapes, including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and software systems. He provides strategic guidance and technical expertise to clients seeking to protect their inventions, from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
Prior to joining WAVS IP, Sammit served as a Patent Agent in Norton Rose Fulbright LLP's telecommunications practice group. Sammit has also worked as a Patent Agent at NOD LAW PC, an IP boutique law firm, where he developed and executed patent prosecution strategies, successfully navigating complex issues including subject matter eligibility rejections and freedom-to-operate analyses. He’s known for his ability to understand complex technologies and translate them into robust patent protection. Previously, he worked as a Patent Engineer at Holland & Hart LLP, focusing on mobile telecommunications and WLAN. Before pursuing a career in patent law, Sammit worked as a graduate research assistant developing high-frequency electronics for a joint research group involving graduate students and scientists from the University of Colorado, Boulder and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). After completing his undergraduate degree, Sammit worked as a Staff Electrical Engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area supporting RF compliance for cellular networks.
Mr. Nene’s expertise encompasses a broad range of technologies, including wireless telecommunications (5G, 6G, and 802.11 Wi-Fi), semiconductors, RF circuits, hard drives, software, AI, power systems, and mechanical engineering applications. He helps clients assess the value of their intellectual property, align their patent portfolios with business objectives, and evaluate competitor patent holdings. He holds advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Management from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
